Desmond
Nji Atanga started youth work at the age of 12. He has nine years of experience
working on youth empowerment and sexual and reproductive health. He was
selected as a Young Leader of the Women Deliver Young Leaders Program in a 2015
where he is currently serving as a fellow and advocate. After serving as the
Regional President of the Cameroon Youth Network between 2013 and 2014, he is
presently the National First Vice President of the same network, which has been
working with UNICEF-Cameroon in the Adolescent Development Program (PDA) since
2004. As National First Vice President of the Cameroon Youth Network, he is a
stakeholder in the planning ofHIV primary prevention programmes in the network
in partnership with UNICEF. He is also a member of the United Nations Major
Group for Children and Youth Working Group for the UN Secretary General’s World
Humanitarian Summit. Desmond co-founded the Progressing Association (PASS) in
2010 and became the organisation’s first executive president. He founded
Deserve on August 16, 2015 as a charity which among its objectives promotes the
sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls, women and youth through
advocacy and education. He is an elected delegate to the Cameroon National Youth
Council. In 2013, Desmond was bestowed the Cameroon’s Best Youth Leader award
by the Project for the Prevention of HIV/AIDS in the Central African Sub-Region
(PPSAC). As an inspirational speaker, he has wide public speaking skills and
experiences. He has participated in various fora in all ten regions of Cameroon
and across the world. Desmond Nji holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from
the University of Dschang, Cameroon, a Technical Education Diploma in Economics
(DIPET 1) and a Postgraduate Technical Education Diploma in Economics (DIPET 2)
from The University of Bamenda, Cameroon. He speaks English, French, Pidgin
English and Ngemba. He does fashion designing and sewing, skills which he
acquired from his mother at the age of 5. He loves reading, writing and listening
to classical music. He also composes music for choral performances.
Secretary: Tanekeu Goula Durance
Tanekeu
Goula Durance is a third year student at the Training School for state
Registered Nurses Bamenda. In addition to being a student, Durance is a peer
educator currently serving as the North West regional president of the Cameroon
Youth Network.

Ndong Edwana
Ndong Edwana is a certified journalist
working with Abakwa Fm Radio, as a Reporter and a commercial agent. She’s Kom, from a family of nine, a twin and
lives in Bamenda. She is a Peer educator with Cameroon Youth network and the secretary of finance with DESERVE Cameroon.
Member: Didier Demassosso Bertrand
Didier Demassosso is a school counsellor in a
rural school in the center region of Cameroon and is currently ending his
training as a Clinical psychologist He is currently Volunteering for The
Healthcare Information for All (HIFA) as Country Representative for Cameroon.
He is very interested in a research and advocacy perspective in sexual
reproductive health and rights, sexuality education, health promotion, mental
health promotion, health literacy, mental health literacy and school mental
health. He wants health development to boom in Cameroon to the first benefit of women, girls and youths.
